FASHION IS THE SECOND MOST POLLUTING INDUSTRY GLOBALLY
It accounts for an estimated 8% of the world's greenhouse gas emissions, almost as much as the total climate impact of the European Union! (1) The fashion industry pollutes ground, air and water; damages ecosystems and threatens human health.
According to a recent study, clothing production doubled from 2000 to 2014. The average person buys 60 percent more items of clothing and keeps them for about half as long as 15 years ago. (2)
Lazarus Apparel wants to prove that clothing can be reused.
Giving artists from all around the world the instruments to transform second-hand clothes on pieces of art, Lazarus Apparel wants to promote a new way of consumption: lower, better, and longer.
For us, better design, better quality, no waste means atemporal clothing.
Transforming Fashion into Art = transforming disposable into eternal.
HOW WE DO IT?
We invite artists from all around the world to work on second-hand clothes of excellent quality.
Due to its characteristics, it offers many unprecedented possibilities as it can be seen as a three-dimensional canvas or a moving sculpture.
To enhance the works and research of our artists, the clothes are signed and exposed with their other works like sculptures and paintings on their profile.
Promoting the creations with events and projects we give artists the opportunity to express their art without worrying about the economic aspect.
